Training Equipment Policy

Training Equipment Policy

We strongly believe that learning should not hurt. Positive Reinforcement training uses proven scientific based training methods to teach the dog vs. punishing the dog for doing something wrong. We train from a place of ‘Yes’ not ‘No’.

To follow our core belief of fear and pain free training, we do not allow any electronic (shock, beep or vibrate) collars or training devices or choke, prong/pinch collars or slip leads of any kind to be worn in our facility or during private lessons. If you need suggestions for equipment please reach out for help! I am here and happy to help you learn new ways!

If you come to class with one on, we loan you another collar or harness for the duration of that class. If you choose not to remove the device, you will not be allowed to continue your training and no refunds will be given.

Here is a great article on the science and theory behind our training methods.

I’m Stephanie

Welcome to Stephanie’s Sniffers. I am a certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) through the NACSW as well as a certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CBCC-KA) & Trainer (CPDT-KA).

I started my nose work journey in 2010 and was hooked from day one. I have competed with 4 of my own dogs – Logan, Lance, Leena & Benny. Livvy passed her ORT’s at 6 months old but due to some fear and behavioral challenges we are still working towards competition.

I am hoping to share my passion in nose work & behavior with everyone!
